Jakub Drzymala

I'm

Hello I'm Jakub ...

... and I'm an engineer who loves to code. Since I created my first program, I can't stop thinking about new ideas and how to implement them. I graduated from Poznan University of Technology with a Bachelor of Science. I spend a lot of time learning new skills and actively help other people learn software development through a variety of help groups and through writing own code. Besides programming I'm passionate about fighting sports, from Bruce Lee or old style Greco-Roman to modern MMA. I really like hiking in the mountains โ›ฐ๏ธ, sailing โ›ต and motorcycles.

Software Developer & Automation Engineer

I'm an Engineer, currently working as DevOps. Born in the 90's in Berlin, I help companies build products from zero to one. The creation process and problem solving have something magical in it, that drives me further to do even more. Feel free to email me or contact me using contact data mentioned below! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Facts

I'm a fast learner, who is goal-oriented (meaning that I quickly cut the unnecessary part away, because let's be honest, nobody needs it). This is the kind of work ethic, that I learned throughout my career so far, working with amazing people.

Hours with code and counting through my few years of experience

Coffee cups and counting (this one raising very fast โค๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‚)

Interesting people met on my engineering journey so far

Open source Projects maintained by me, that I'm proud of ๐Ÿšง

Skills

My tools of choice include:

  • Java (8 - 17 LTS, Spring Boot, JPA, Hibernate, Jax-ws, JUnit 4 / 5, Jax-ws, SOLID),
  • Build tools (Gradle, Maven),
  • Selenium,
  • Docker (Dockerfile, docker-compose),
  • Jenkins,
  • Debian / Linux configuration + experience with PostgreSQL,
  • ... and a little bit of Javascript with Angular.
I'm open to learn new skills, in case they would be necessary to do awesome things! The percentages below are for obvious reasons a dancing baloney, because expressing a knowledge in % is not the best idea, but I'll leave them be ;)

Spring Boot 78%
Gradle 72%
Docker 71%
Angular 21%
Selenium 82%
Bash 71%

Projects

My projects were created to learn, to help others but mostly to also have some fun. Created either alone or during marvellous teamwork, they include:

  • a Honey Shop ๐Ÿ - because my family owns a bee-garden,
  • a Speedysalesman - API solving the traveling salesman problem,
  • the CertGen - Spring Boot BouncyCastle API for certificates ๐Ÿ“œ generation,
  • Data-analytics Docker metabase dashboard.
  • OpenGL 3D Chess replayer,
  • Gradle Jenkins CI/CD builder,
  • Arduino plants waterer robot,
  • Spring Boot Mail Sender ๐Ÿ“ง,
  • Smart Aviator.
As you can see I focus myself on Backend Development but I developed different projects to have a broader view. I'm also interested in data analytics, computer graphics and Arduino programming. Check out my projects and get in touch with me!

Referrals

When I say that people make the difference, and it really doesn't matter if it is a place of work or a sport club, I really mean it. Luckily during my career I had the opportunity to work with amazing people. Some of them were eager to write a referral. Shoutout to all my colleagues! I'm thankful for all!

It was great working together with Jakub. He's a hard worker and easy going.
